My name is Sarah and I am the gal behind the tap. An Iowa native, I moved to Des Moines after a stint in NYC post college. Since then, I have made it my business to sample cocktails and delicious bevvies along my path. With a love for events, an appreciation for the finer details and passion for curating unique experiences— Houndstooth & Hooch was born.

Okay but what about the name?
Like the events we look forward to being part of, Houndstooth (the pattern) is timeless, bold, unique and memorable. It is also the name of our dog, Houndstooth (Howie) the basset hound.
As for Hooch, we wanted to incorporate a fun, vintage name for spirits that pays homage to our primary function in a unique way.
